| The National Training Center Program was introduced to Canada by the CSA in the fall of 2000 in an attempt to improve scouting and player development across Canada.
There are five training centers across the country, located in Halifax, Montreal, Toronto, Edmonton, and Vancouver.
Players from Nova Scotia, along with New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island form the Atlantic Center.
Nova Scotia players who are scouted and selected at National Club Championships, All-Star Championships or on scouting visits to Nova Scotia from members of the CSA National Coaching Staff will attend five training weekends each year in Halifax. At these weekends, a National Team Coach and other National Training Center staff members will assess player's suitability for full National Team Programs.
