Victoria Parkinson (Dartmouth, NS) has just completed her 2nd U17 WNT camp in Toronto, Ontario. Twenty-four players were selected for the camp that ran from Jan 9th – 17th. With continued efforts to see and combine Canada’s best talent in this age group, 7 new players were invited to camp and has a pool of players, the U17 WNT have now played 5 exhibition games.
This camp saw a change in coaching staff with Bryan Rosenfeld replacing out-of-contract Ian Bridge. Additions to the staff also included NTC-Atlantic’s Lewis Page. Together Bryan and Lewis led Canada to a quarterfinal birth in New Zealand ’08.
The U17 WNT will attempt to qualify in the top 2 teams in the CONCACAF tournament in Costa Rica in March in order to book a place in the 2010 Women’s World Cup in Trinidad and Tobago.
