The Symposium theme was Game and Player Management with presentations on various topics including: recognitions of tactical fouls, recognizing and dealing with dissent, expected referee competencies and interpretation and application of the Laws for 2009.  A highlight of the day was the coaches’ panel which dealt with the expectations of officials from the coaching perspective.

Awards of recognition were presented to referees that have been designated to national and international lists for the 2009 season.
